Just a little post for people who are searching jobs in Austin. I’m sure a lot of people have read about the economy crisis in United States. Companies are retrenching again. Last I heard the big bank Citibank is retrenching. Job market is quite gloomy now and with unemployment rate at its highest since 9/11, I wonder if anyone can get a decent paying job.
Let’s hope the dark clouds dissipate soon. This country really need hope now. *sigh*

Only a few people knew I almost had to fly to New York city to renew my passport ‘cos the Consulate of Malaysia in Los Angeles does not have the biometric machine that issues new passports. Thanks to a helpful immigration officer at the Consulate of Malaysia in New York, I was able to renew my passport without wasting an air ticket (that would have caused me $450).
After I have received my new passport, I had been meaning to get a thank you gift for that officer. I have surfed online many times and couldn’t find the appropriate gift. I even went to sites that sell promotional business gifts but it didn’t work out well. I guess I just have to keep on searching for the right gift.

Power Steering Pros have all the supplies you need if you want to get the highest quality steering box and steering rack. All the products sold by them come in full warranty and FREE shipping. Most importantly they carry products that fit most car models.
It is a pity Power Steering Pros weren’t around 10 years ago. We could’ve used a power steering wheel. Making 3-point turns would be so much easier (yea, we used to have a manual steering car). Back then only the dealers have privilege to quality boxes and racks. Power steering was deemed as luxury back in those days. With power steering, turning of the steering wheel is like gliding on ice. Without it, it is like getting an arm workout.
Power Steering Pros not only bring these quality products to the public but at a lower list price too. If you are thinking of replacing your steering box or rack, do hop over to Power Steering Pros’ site.

I have noticed friends and family members are gaining additional members in their families. Wouldn’t it be nice to have something special to commemorate the birth of a baby (or two) by using a Photo Birth Announcements? I have received my fair share of Photo Birth Announcements from friends and had wished I had done so previously. Luckily for us we have this blog to announce the birth of our second daughter.

College-bound kids are so lucky nowadays. During my time, there is no such thing as online college matching services like myUsearch. myUsearch has a Smart Questionnaire that helps narrow down the best college that matches the student’s personality and interest. Back in those days we had to page through the college directory, search through the college catalog, and even write to the college admission department to get more information on the college. Yes, I am that old. Anyway, with myUsearch, students not only cut down on the time spent choosing colleges, they also get to match up with the right college that suits them best. Now, don’t you agree with me students nowadays are so much more fortunate? And get the load of this: This service is totally free! If I were you (college-bound kid), I would check them out right away.

Last night I was flipping through a magazine and read an interesting article on Lapband surgery. Apparently, it is the latest method used for a lot of obese people. There were many positive reviews from the article I read. Obesity in America is increasing each day. I believe we need to evaluate on our diet and living standard. As technology became more advanced, people have became more sedentary. I sure hope my family and I do not become part of the statistics. Nonetheless, it is always good to know where we can get a good lapband surgeon. I always believe in “knowing more will not hurt us.”

My husband usually authorizes the purchasing of electronic stuff in his company’s server lab. Heaven knows how many types of cables he had bought and everytime I walk into his cubicle, I will see yards and yards of cables hanging around his cubicle. I’m sure he will be happy to know about Diable Cable as they carry the Cisco cable he has been looking for. He will be happy to know it comes with a lifetime warranty too. I can’t wait to show him this site as it also carries different type of cables.

When I was in college, I used to Telnet to the University’s server from my home PC whenever I want to check my school email or go online (e.g.: IRC). Nowadays, Telnet Servers are hardly used and it has been rapidly replaced by SSH Servers. Nonetheless, Telnet Servers are still around because it is the lowest cost alternative to connecting to your work PC from anywhere else. I believe Telnet Servers is cost effective for all small to medium size businesses.
If you are thinking of expanding your network infrastructure, do consider Pragma Systems. Pragma Systems has been providing secure and reliable access for its customers for over 16 years. Their customers include big guns like Target, Coca-Cola, Bank of America, HP and IBM.

DirMania claims it is one of the strongest free directory of websites, mainly business websites. For a 100% free web directory since 2005 it has definitely gathered a lot websites and these are businesses from different continents. I believe this web directory is great for all small to medium size businesses as it is free advertising for their businesses and it will boost their sites page ranking. It is also great for businesses that wishes to test the water of online advertising without parting advertising funds.
I find DirMania site simple and well categorized. It has listed major categories in the main page; thus, making it user-friendly. If I have my own business, I will definitely include my website in DirMania. It’s free, no brainer!
