Belle is like Junior (our dog). She will do anything for food.
I know I know, it is bad of me to compare my daughter to a dog; but that’s the truth.
Popo: Belle, you want this mumm mumm (food)?
Belle: Yea!
Popo: Call Popo first
Belle: Po Po!
Another scenerio…
Gong Gong: Ting, aahhh (open mouth)
Belle: aaaahhh
Popo: Call Ah Gong
Belle: Toto!
Oh yea, Belle can’t pronounce Gong Gong and resort to calling my dad Toto. Wakakaka…

Belle loves to give kisses and they tend to be the open-mouthed type. When she’s apprehensive at kissing someone she will close her mouth but she will still kiss ‘em. Her grandparents are getting a kick outta it!
Can you tell who does Belle love to kiss more?

I told my sis I would blog about this. My mom tried to make kaya (Malay: jam made from coconut milk, egg & sugar) couple of weeks ago. Needless to say, Jon and I were the guinea pigs, oops, I mean testers. My dad gave some lame excuses and got away with it.
My mom’s kaya didn’t turn out like kaya at all. It looks like scrambled eggs. It did taste like kaya tho…hehe. Here are some pics:
Double boiled, stirred and came out looking like this. Kaya that looks like scrambled egg.
Spread butter on one side of the bread and crumbly pieces of kaya on the other side.

A brave tester. It was tough to get the kaya on the bread..hehe…Belle got her fair share via breastmilk.

Haiyoh! Last night I was multi-tasking: feeding Belle while chatting on the phone with my dad. I was yakking away happily then CHOMP and I went, “YEEEOOWWWW!”
Belle bit me.
My dad was so “gan cheong” (Cantonese: panicky) and first thing he asked, “Did the dog bite my Isabelle?” *slap on the forehead* Er dad, it’s me who yelled out, not your precious grand-daughter.
Grandparents, they can be so funny at times. My folks call me at least once a week and I try to do that as well. Everytime we’re on the phone, they would insist on “talking” to Belle. Everytime I will have to put the phone next to her ear. Next thing you know, they will call her name and sometimes even strike up a conversation with her (most of the time one-sided conversation). It’s so hilarious! Couple of nights ago, my dad even whistled to Belle. Aiyo, since when did my Belle become a dog? LOL!
My parents are semi-computer-illiterate (they know how to email tho’). I’ve told them numerous times to set up a webcam. I’d even suggested that they let my god-bro installed it for them. But noooo, they prefer goo goo gaa gaa’ing over the phone. Must make a mental note for my trip home this coming October: Install a webcam for them and write down step-by-step manual for them to follow.
Anyway, they will be here next month and they can smother Belle with their hugs and kisses for the entire month. Jon and I are so thankful for that ‘cos my MIL will be having a hip replacement surgery next month. Having them here means neither one of us need to take time off from work. You see, we’re trying to save up all of our vacation days for our mega-long (3-4 weeks) trip to M’sia and Shanghai. Talking about vacation gives me goose bumps. I haven’t had one since 2004. I’m so excited! Weeeeeee….
