I try to use less chemical when comes to house cleaning. Needless to say, I am always on the hunt to find non-toxic products for my house. I found this cool site that sells moth traps. It is a pesticide-free pantry moth trap. Would you want to use chemical substances near your food? I would not. So, this moth trap is perfect for my pantry. I can’t wait to give it a try.

I am totally clueless when comes to tools. I know the basics: screwdriver, wrench, saw, drill and hammer. Don’t ask me about air tools, compressors, and what the heck is a mechanical anchor? Needless to say, my house is not fully equipped with tools. We always have to borrow from the in-laws.
So, did it ever occur to me to get a set of tools for the husband? Nah! I doubt he ever uses it; well, except the screwdriver, wrench, saw, drill and the hammer.

The hubby reads this blog everyday. Here’s a message for the hub: Call the skylight guys; otherwise you better start taking some bodybuilding supplements ‘cos you will be changing the skylights yourself.
Yes, folks…we still haven’t change the skylights (as intended). Apparently, the roofer who restored our roof quoted us a high price. We’re hoping to get lower quotes from others. One came back with a lower quote but it is still best to find 2 more.

Our roof is 95% done and we’re waiting for the roofers to change the gutters, solar fans and retrofit the skylights. Once this project is done, I am thinking of changing the faucets and shower head in the guest bathroom. We have look everywhere from Home Depot to Lowes and the best faucets are still found online. Now I just hope the roofers can finish the project by next week. *Big hint to the hubby to call the roofer guy today.

We have procrastinated on getting a new roof for, ooh, over three years. Every time we get a quotation, we held on tightly to our pocketbook. A new roof for the houses around my neighborhood can be in the five digits. Last week we finally sign up for a new roof.
Well, it isn’t gonna be a new, new roof. Since our current roof is a shake roof we are qualified to restore it. There will be no tearing down of the roof and it’s the greenest way to fix our roof. The roofers checked the condition of the shake roof and told us the cedar wood that was used earlier is still hardy. Hardy is good. They will replace the tiles that are cracked and apply an environmentally-safe chemical to burn the moss and fungi on the good existent tiles. They will also put in new felt if the current felt is deteriorated. Most importantly, it will cost us less.
Since it will cost us less to get a new roof now, we’re gonna have the roofers put in 3 new solar fan (to cool the attic) and change our sun-roofs. The current sun-roofs are fixed. We are gonna change to sun-roofs that can be open.
Jon is considering renovating the kitchen too. I think he has caught the renovate bug.
Do you know he has always wanted to get a wine refrigerator? It is quite a neat gadget to have; especially after a long day at work, it will be nice to sit down and relax with a glass of chilled sauvignon blanc.

I have always wanted to decorate Belle’s bedroom but just did not know where to start. Today I found out about MyInteriorDecorator.com and I find it useful just knowing where I can start with my interior decorating. This site has many home decorating ideas but not much articles on decorating a toddler’s room. I was looking for decorating ideas with photos but I could not find them anywhere. Maybe I should subscribe to their newsletter. Anyway, I think this site has potential as I can see the owner, Rhonda Morin, has put in personal notes in her site and it is as though she is there to help guide a decorator dummy, like me, walk through all the obstacles I might meet during my home decorating journey.
