A massage session

Last night both my girls gave me a massage. The elder one kept asking, “Mommy, does your back owwie?” When I nodded, she pounded my back a little longer with her tiny fists. The little one saw her sister did that, she decided to help too.

I praised them by saying, “Oh, thank you girls! You girls are the best daughters!” And of course, my massage session went on a little longer at each praise I gave them. :D *sneaky me*

So, yea, I’m very proud of my little slaves girls. I’m sure their Dad will try to talk out of giving me a massage now that the girls are able to give a somewhat wondrous massage.

Mommy’s Girls

My girls, I can’t describe the immense love I have for both of you.  Having both of you has completed me. I hope you will grow up loving one another unconditionally and stand by each other through thick and thin.

Me & My Girls

This was taken a while back and I still haven’t shed much weight. The other day I was telling Jon how fair my feet were and he said, “Oh yea!” Then he asked me right away, “Oh, you meant fair, right?” Yup, the man heard it wrongly. He thought I said how FAT I was. Hrmph! Did he apologise?! Heck no! He just laughed…hysterically. What a meanie!

Belle: 27 mth old update

My baby is definitely going through the terrible 2s but it is normal for all 2 yo to exert their independence. We have so much joy conversing with her and at times she makes us pull our hair from frustration. Everyday she brings home new words she had learned from the daycare. Here are some words she would use on us:

Hey! – She will say that whenever we try to irritate her.
Com’n guys – She says that whenever she wants us to follow her
Oooo-kay – She will ask us a question and when we reply her, she will use Oooo-kay to acknowledge our replies.
Oooooooh – Whenever we explain something to her, she will reply with a long Ooooooh. Haiz, this girl is really coo ling jing gwai. (Cantonese: Full of tricks & animation)

She is starting to link 3-4 words together in a sentence but still loves to baby talk. I think it’s b’cos she doesn’t know most of the words. Her sentence can go like this, “Daddy, take away…gibberish…Superman..Spiderman..gibberish..Belle Belle, now!” Yeah, it’s quite hilarious to hear her talk. I think I’m the only person who truly understands what she’s trying to tell us. Jon, my in-laws and parents are clueless most of the time.

Lately she is into Princesses. She has probably picked it up from the older kids in the daycare. She will open her closet and points at her girly fancy dresses and say, “Princess dress!” Yesterday, I let her wear a dress and she twirls around with it. My little girl is finally growing out of her tomboy phase. Read the rest of this entry »

Our evenings…

After dinner is always spent watching cartoons with Belle. I love this time ‘cos we always cuddle up and put a warm blankie on us. Belle loves to sit closely to me and she seems very comfortable doing that while watching her cartoons. We have been watching some reeeaaallly old cartoons. Those who grow up in the 80s will know what Super Friends are. Yup, there’s the Hall of Justice and the Super Friends are Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman & Robin and the Wonder Twins. Boy, this cartoon brings back memories.

We have watched it a few times and Belle knows who they are (of course, I’m the culprit of naming each character to her..hehe). Now, every evening she will be yelling out, “Super Friends! Super Friends!” I guess I’m stuck watching cartoons for the time being.

I Love You

This morning, Belle woke up and started to kiss my arm. She loves to touch my arms ‘cos it will be cold from the morning air. She kissed and said the 3 delightful words: I-LOVE-YOU. :D

She will kiss once and say I luv yeew; kiss again and say I luv yeew!

This is the very first time she say the words w/o any prompting.

Mommi, you ouch?

Need to jot this down before I forget:

Couple of nights ago I had to go in to my health provider to get some blood drawn. Right after I had the blood drawn Jon and I went to the daycare to pick up Belle. Little girl saw the bandaid on my arm and said Ouch. I acknowledged by saying, “Yes, Mommi has ouch-ouch here.”

That night I put Belle to bed. By that time I had my bandaid taken off and there was a small red dot on my arm. Belle touched it and said Ouch again. To my surprise, right after she said that she kissed the red dot. That action totally melted my heart. Marshmallows! Yup, my heart was like a melted marshmallow the entire night.

I think she has learned that from me. Few days back she fell and scrapped her knees. I kissed her boo-boo and told her everything is alright. Kids. They pick up our mini actions without us knowing it.

Have you smell your child lately?

I sure have…

And she smells like PINK COTTON CANDY

*blissful sigh*

Not that she ate any during the day but last night while I was lying next to Belle, I started smelling her face, her hair and her hand. She really smelled like cotton candy. Yummm!

A little milestone at 14-mth & 2 wks

Work has been really busy and stressful lately. Yesterday I came home from work with a major headache. Once I reached home, opened the door and saw my little one on the couch with her Ya Ya.  She gave me a sheepish smile, climbed down the couch and stood motionless for few seconds.

I said, “Come to Mommi!” and stretched my arms to her. Her face beamed, tottled over to me and hugged me immediately.

I said, “Give Mommi a kiss.” She planted a BIG smootch (with the smootching sound) on my lips.

Do you know how I feel? I felt all the stress from work just lifted off my shoulders. I think I’ll need this kinda therapy/treatment from my daughter everyday just to keep my mind sane.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Belle copied a word yesterday and the word is “YES.”
She can say YES like Yeeas or Yaas or Yessss.
I was so thrill about it and every now and then (last night) I would say YES just to hear her copy me. :lol: This mom is tormenting her poor kid with words..haha!
Belle knows how to say NO and she uses it very frequently. I’m so glad she knows how to say and understand the word YES. Now she and I can have verbal argument: “Yesss…Noooo…Yes..No!” Oh boy, this is gonna be frequently heard when she becomes a teenager *yikes*.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The most rewarding thing for the week is she finally calls me “Mi.”

Both my sister and I call our Mom, Mi or Mi Mi or Maaa.

After hearing Belle calls me Mi I felt, well, older. Isn’t it weird? I thought I would  be elated or jumping through the roof but nope, I felt old. Maybe it is because it finally dawns on me that my little girl is growing up and she will forever grow older. So will I.

The joy of seeing our little ones growing is quite an experience and I have no words to describe it. But, at the same time, I feel sadness. I will not be able to keep Belle small and knowing the fact once she gets older (20 years later) I will have to let her go just so she can be independent. I bet this is how my parents felt too.

Having her is a reward ‘cos now I know what my parents have gone through and I truly appreciate them. Gosh, how did I get off the topic. Haha! Like I’ve said before, Belle refers to me as Mi and I LOOOVE IT!

A kiss from Belle

This evening I decided to give Belle a piggy ride on my shoulders.  Daddy was snapping away with the camera and to our surpise Belle did this…

Belle definitely loves Mommy!
