Something funny happened this morning.

There we were, all 3 of us, on our teeny queen size bed. The sun seeped through the cream colored curtain and crept all the way to our faces. Belle was awake playing with her hands and kicking the side of my tummy. Jon and I were half awake, trying to ignore her. Then it happened…

Belle aka the Queen of Fart laid a BIG one followed by an “Eeeyooo” gurgle. It was so loud it could pass as Jon’s fart.

We raised our head to look at her. She looked up and gave us a whacha-lookin-at-haven’t-seen-a-gal-fart-before look. I said, “Baby! You boo-boo?” She flashed her million dollar smile.

I have a shitty (new) manager.

First of all, he doesn’t back me up eventhough he knows the company is screwing me over the commission. You would think a veteran sales like him would understand. Nope, he didn’t. Fine. I can fight my own battles. Which I did and got what I want.

Then, he tries to get my client contact info. No way, Jose! This is a big NO-NO in sales world. It’s like giving away trade secrets. It’s my network and he ain’t getting it for free. So, I kindly told him “no, you cannot have it.”

My manager is such a scumbag. He would do anything as long as it benefits him only. He hoards every friggin products! Today he gave a lame excuse as “Oh, my XXX customer has waited for this for a longgg time.”

I checked the order date: two weeks ago. A long time? Right. Next time, try to give a more realistic lie.

Now, what is a manager if he/she is not into teamwork? It is such an irony when the “teamwork” posters are posted all around the building and here is someone who only cares for himself. I thought a manager is judged by the underlings performance. Just like the verse from Jerry Mcguire, “help me to help you.” Well, I ain’t getting any help.

I’ve been told old habits are hard to get rid, especially for someone who is crowned “King of Jumping off the Roof” (“Tiu lau wong” in Chinese).

‘Nuff said. I’ve vented and I’ve chilled. Now, off to pumping I go. Darn, all this venting makes me hungry. I’ll go eat an apple first.

Gila-Gila: Street of Fun

Belle caught the cold bug again. It went from me & Belle to the hubby then to the father-in-law. Now, it’s back to Belle. Luckily it isn’t the flu. She just has the sniffles.

Oh, we had a revelation over this weekend. We found out that if we stimulate Belle during the day with conversation, sing-along-songs, toys and trips out of the house (along with short cat-naps), she will sleep very, VERY well during the night.

On Sunday, Belle got a visitor. Auntie Laurie got her gifts and she especially love the Pooh Bear. The poor bear is now drenched in her saliva. She’s at that age when her little hands grab on things, it goes straight into her mouth.

Okay, I need my coffee fix now.

Looks like I won’t be bringing Belle with me to Montreal. Jon’s afraid she might catch the flu bug. The plane isn’t exactly airborne free from germs. He does have a point and Belle hasn’t finish her course of immunization.

So, this trip will be Belle-free. Now, my next headache is figuring out how to pump while in the plane and during transit. I usually fly with American Airlines and have mileages with them. So, I figure they might accommodate a frequent flier such as me on “special” requests. I was wrong.

They only accommodate to children, the disables and pregnant passengers. Nothing for nursing mothers!

Just my luck too, when I called in their customer service, I got a guy on the other line. I could hear from his voice he was blushing when I asked him about nursing and pumping. Then, he cracked up. He also found it funny that by sheer luck I had to have a guy answering on the other end.

After few minutes of exchanging laughter and waiting for him to ask his co-workers, the answer I got from him is, “tough luck, you’ll have to pump in the lavatory.” In the LAVATORY?? In that cram and dirty 6′x4′ cube?! Ne-vah!!!

Argh! Will bitch later. Have to head home for dinner.

I just found out my co-worker Rob will be shipped out to Iraq this weekend.

The “war” that is so distant finally hits me. Rob will be on tour of duty for a year plus.

Let’s all pray for his safe return and pray for all the fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, grandchildren, cousins and friends who are risking their lives each day in what Rob calls the “sand box.”

I can’t believe how people can do this to a child. Ever since Belle came along, I truly understand “mother’s love.” I will run into a burning house for my child without second thoughts.
