Baba or Mama?

We were shopping at Linens n Things yesterday. Jon was busy checking out chairs and I was pushing the cart. Belle is able to sit independently and we plopped her into the cart seat.

I was pushing the cart mindlessly. Belle was babbling away like a little chatterbox. Out of the blue moon she blurted out “Ba ba bababa…baaa ba..ba ba…” I froze. Then I hurriedly maneuvered the cart to Jon (trying not to knock down things along the path). Just as I got to him, that girl stopped babbling. Aiyah!

Anyway, it’s good that she calls her daddy first. So, I told my little Belle, next time you want to change your diaper after poo poo, call Baba. When you’re older and you want money, call Baba. What? You want bling bling? Oh, call Baba. *laugh*

I just found out my posts were not in sequential order. Not sure what happened. Just read according the sequence.

Fixed the problem! Yay!

Belle’s 1st vacation: Los Angeles (Part IV)

Belle loves her foot. These were taken the following day at Sheraton Hotel. We decided to move back to LAX area ‘cos we had to meet up with Jon’s buddy, Eric, for lunch. Princess Belle

Finally, a family photo. We had lunch in an Italian restaurant at Venice Beach.

Our flight back to San Jose airport. This time around, I had everything prepared. Yes, breast feeding does come in handy. Belle had a good nap and she was in lala land when the plane landed. It was a good trip and we’d learned a thing or two from it. :)

Belle’s 1st vacation: Los Angeles (Part II)

Can you spot the baby?

The room was great. The only complaint is the pillows. Too soft. Both Jon and I had stiff necks the next morning.

Since I had to attend and (wo)man my booth, Jon took care of Belle. Both of them joined me around dinner time. The show had a great turn out and I got stuck at my booth answering customers’ questions. My customer, the buyer, was thrilled to see Belle. Jon and I were more than happy to hand Belle off to her. Needless to say, my booth had the most traffic. Baby = great marketing.

Belle was such a good girl throughout the show. She was not afraid of the crowd. She even let Kim (the buyer) carried her around the room. Everyone complimented on her good behaviour, but at the back of my mind, I was saying “Uh-oh, good now means bad later.”

My prediction came true. Belle had too much excitement that night and ended waking up a few times throughout the night.

A hearty breakfast before we start the day.
Belle loves her human horsey ride. Mom had a great abs workout.

Belle’s 1st vacation: Los Angeles (Part I)

We’ve survived. The plane ride was quite a challenged. Belle suffered bad pressure in her ears during the flight to LA. I tried giving her pacifier. Didn’t work. Tried giving her water. Didn’t work. Only left one thing: The miracle boobs. Luckily the flight was short, roughly over an hour. Between taking off and landing, she was an angel.

Waiting for our plane

Belle’s first flight.

Had to keep Curious Belle busy. A packet of peanuts did the trick!

We arrived at LAX around 1-ish. By the time we got out from the Hertz rental place, it was almost 3pm. For some reasons, Jon had a difficult time strapping on her car seat. When we got onto the freeway, we encountered the LA rush hours. A mere 30 mins drive to our hotel became a 1.5 hrs ride! Let me tell you this, only insane people would wanna live in LA. The freeways and highways are always congested!! Anyway, we got to the hotel, Pacific Palm Resort, just in time for me to set up my booth. After all, I was there for business.

A long night…

We got back from a wedding dinner an hour ago and managed to survive it. Belle is now sound asleep in her crib. She is exhausted from meeting new people and being carried from one person to another.

It has been quite an eventful weekend starting from Friday. We met up with my h/s friend, Shelly and her significant other, Az. Showed them around town, chatted non-stop. It’s great to see a familiar face. :)

Tomorrow is another long day. We have to attend a Ku Por and Ku Gong’s wedding anniversary. We had better get some rest. Signing off now but before I do that, will send a lovely picture of Belle in my next post.

Sleep, where art thou?

I’m so tired. Who says a baby will sleep through the night by 6-mths of age? Who ar? I’ll have to hantam (Malay: slam/hit/kick/all together) that person. Who says give baby cereal with milk before they sleep and claiming baby will sleep through the night easily? Who ar? Who ar? I’ll have to cekik (Malay: strangle) that person.

Belle is like a cat. She takes cat naps. No, not only during the day but at night too! Aiyo, both of us have to wake up at least 2 times every night (between 11pm – 6 am). When she’s awake, she will reach out her arms to us, wanting to be carried. Yup, this girl wants to be lull in order for her to fall asleep again. (I think I wrote about this before) It’s either that or my boobs. Sometimes suck until dry she still hasn’t fall asleep. *sigh*

She is relatively a good baby during the day. Doesn’t cry much. Eats when she’s given her bottle/food. Strikes up lovely conversation with her nai nai (Mandarin: paternal grandma). Even sings whenever my MIL sings to her (MIL said Belle sings ??). Everything is good except when sleep time comes.

It’s like a constant struggle to get her to sleep. Without fail she will have to cry and whine (yes, my baby can whine) for a good 30 mins before she falls asleep on our arms. The only thing that stops her crying and whinning is, yes, you’ve guessed it, my boobs. That only happens if I still have milk in me, or else back to crying and whinning.

Sigh, what to do? What to do? My doc’s advice doesn’t seem to work la.
