Belle had slight fever last night and Mommy isn’t feeling well too. I’m having runny nose since Sunday. At first I thought it was allergy but after last night, I highly doubt it is allergy.
Belle’s fever came out of the sudden, right after we gave her the night feeding. Her daddy fed her and she was unusually quiet while he was feeding her. At first we thought she was just tired. After she was done with her milk, her daddy carried her and was about to go upstairs. She saw me and all of the sudden wanted me to carry her. She gave me a koala-hug and laid her head on my shoulder. That’s when it struck me that there is something wrong with her. I touched her forehead and hands and they were warm. I then carried her upstairs but went back down again ‘cos my instinct told me to give her a dose of fever med.
After a few minutes of rocking, she fell asleep. I went downstairs to get her a coolpad. She woke up crying as the pad was too cold for her (it was stored in the refrigerator). I had to shush and rock her back to sleep.
In the middle of the night, she started crying and her Daddy had to get up to rock her a bit. Towards the end, he got tired and plopped her in between us. Belle moved so much till she found a comfortable position: Body and head on Mommy’s pillow and arm. Yup, I had to sleep in that position for a few hours.
Anyway, I’m glad her fever subsided this morning. Her nanny isn’t feeling too well neither. She is having runny nose just like me. Sigh!

Belle’s one year-old birthday party was held at home last Saturday. We invited friends and their little ones. It was a small and short party as we have to consider the babies’ nap hours. Here are some pics to share…

Belle liked Jeremiah’s hat so much she decided to “steal” it. Look at the pic below, what a diva queen…she even tried it on herself.

This is the 1st time we saw Belle kicked the ball. We might have a Mia Hamm or Brandi Chastain in making.

As you can tell, this girl is kinda clumsy and can get distracted easily by other things.

Last night was one of the worse nights we ever had.
I had to go into Urgent Care which ended up in the Emergency Room. The doc at U.C. thought it was better for me to go in for additional check up at the Stanford’s ER.
We left UC around 10 mins to 9pm and arrived at ER around 9pm. Boy, that place was packed! There was a locked-in incident from one of their patients. I think she is a bit on the loony side as we could hear her screaming from inside the ER area. We had to wait in the waiting room for 3 hours to get a bed inside the ER area. After that, it was more waiting for the damn doc to see me. I was given IV and blood was taken. They took quite a lot this time, about 6 viles! Had to even give them a urine sample too.
Aiyo, the service in Stanford’s ER is TERRIBLE! I was given one thin sheet as blanket..and that place a/c was cranked up high! I was shivering my butt off. The hubby had to go dig thru the cabinets in the room we were at for more sheets. Those nurses there didn’t even bother to get me a blanket eventhough I complained about being cold. When I briefly mentioned I didn’t have a drop of water since I came in, they didn’t even offer to get me water. I was given the IV instead. *slaps forehead* If rated 1-5 for service..Stanford’s ER gets zero!
By the time we got the test result and had to wait for the doc to come in to give the results to us, it was already 5.30 in the morning. We got home by 6am!! Thankfully we have our folks here. Imagine if we have no family here and have to lug Belle with us to the ER?? I shiver at that thought.
Both of us had to call in sick at work ‘cos there is NO WAY we’re driving to work while feeling sleepy. Jon is lucky enough to have the flexibility to work from home.
The good news is, I’m a-okay! The UC doc was overly concern and we’re grateful he was (unlike this other doc I have, will blog about this doc at a later time). We’re very thankful for our folks who stayed with Belle till we got back from the ER. Our poor folks, didn’t even had the chance to take a shower that day ‘cos we didn’t expect a short visit to the UC will take 9 friggin hours! We’re also thankful our nanny comes to our house daily and she took care of Belle while both of us caught some sleep during first half of the day.
All in all, we’re just glad I’m okay and our travelling plans will not be affected.
Oh, one last thing: STANFORD ER SUCKS!

Guess who I caught stealing her daddy’s wallet?

She stood on the stool just so she could reach the wallet. Smart, eh?

Then she quickly scurried away with her loot.

She found a nice spot to check out her loot.

The digging began! Well, she didn’t pull out any money or cards (which is good). She played with it for a bit and got tired with it. She threw it aside and ventured off doing other stuff.

Belle is a quick learner and loves to copy the things we do. If she finds it amusing, she will copy us right away. I caught these two monkeying around. Her daddy laid his head on the package and Belle found it amusing and decided to do the same.

Last Saturday we had a pot luck party at home. My hubby invited some of his high school friends and their families over. Everyone had a blast, especially Ms. Belle. She was going around hugging and kissing all the kids..hahaha. This girl of mine is very affectionate and I’m not sure whether that is good or bad. Now that she is walking, she has the freedom to mingle around the guests; which means more work for both my hubby and myself!
We didn’t take much photos that evening as we were busy talking to friends, minding Belle and making sure we didn’t burn the lasagna..hehe. Here are some pics to share…

The hubby flipped thru the channel and 8mm (the movie) is showing on TV now. I haven’t watched this before so I decided to catch the movie again as they will show it back to back. The movie is almost ending now. Then I told my hubby I wanna watch it. This was the conversation:
Me: I wanna watch this later.
Hub: What? Why you wanna watch this? I watched it already.
Me: Huh? You watched this without me?!
Hub: This movie is old leh…see..(clicked on the info button) It came out in 1999. I must’ve watched this before I met you.
Me: Are you sure?? *trying to test him* When did we first meet?
Hub: *thinking thinking thinking* 2000!
Me: What?! You sure??
Hub: Er…1999.
Me: Are you positive? What if you’re wrong..what will I get??
Hub: You will *censored* (only between us)
Me: You’re so dead wrong. We met at 1998!
Hub: Huh? That long meh? We’ve been together for 8 years?!
Me: Yeah!
Hub: Gee..you were 2x only at that time…and I was 2x only. I didn’t expect to marry you leh.
Me: What the?! *%&^#!!! *celaka!* *fuming*
