Belle is at the stage where she likes to be given an option. Every morning I would let her look into her cabinet and see what kinda clothes she wanna wear for the day. Most of the time she doesn’t get to wear the clothes of her choice. Nonetheless, she is delighted to pick out any clothes herself.

This morning she insisted on wearing her bikini. Yup, B-I-K-I-N-I. She looped the bikini top around her neck and nodded gleefully when I asked if she wanna wear her “bra” to school. I guess this girl is still fascinated with bras.

Anyhow, I got to convinced her to take off the bikini top. Alright, I lied; I yanked it off her despite her protest and put on a t-shirt on her. I diverted her attention by asking her to spot the doggie on her t-shirt. *phew* That was a close call or else she will have a major meltdown.

I will still give her options ‘cos I’m sure she loves her newfound independence. My girl is really growing up. *sniff*

Belle is still hacking and coughing during the night. Does anyone has any remedy for cough besides giving her cough mixture? I tried putting Vicks under her soles and that didn’t work.

Tonight I’m gonna put some ?? (chuin pui) powder into her cough syrup.

Belle is watching Dora the Explorer now. We just had pancakes for lunch. Yep, what kinda mother am I, feeding her kid pancakes for lunch? Oh well, anything for the girl to eat. Her appetite is really bad lately and I’m glad she was willing to finish 2 small pancakes.

Pilar, her ex-nanny, was here for house-cleaning this morning. She said the mexican remedy for cough is honey water. I mixed some honey and warm water for Belle. She drank half a glass of it. Did it stop the cough? It’s too early to tell.

As I’m typing now, Ms. Belle decided to ransacked her toy bin. She found the toy phone and kept saying, “Hiiii, Hiiii Papa…” Little girl must be missing her daddy.

Okay, better get this missy take her afternoon nap. I need a nap too.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Belle’s fever has subsided…after 4 long days! Her coughing still persists and she woke up a few times last night from coughing. We did all we could; we gave her med, rubbed Vicks on her chest and yes, we rubbed Vicks under her soles too.

Little girl is sleeping now and I’m staying home today to look after her. Let’s see how the rest of the day goes. I just hope she eats well ‘cos she hasn’t been. *sigh*

This long weekend holiday is definitely a long one for us. Ms. Belle is down with fever and it kept yo-yo’ing from 100F to 103F. We brought her in to Dr. Martino’s office on Saturday and she said it is just a common viral disease. She was worried it was HFM disease ‘cos she has seen a few cases this week. Luckily for us Belle didn’t have any sores around her mouth, hands or feet. She sent us home with nothing but advice. She’s on Motrin for her fever and we’ve been giving it to her every 6 hours.

Besides fever, the girl is teething too. She has never drooled for her past teething but she is drooling quite a bit for this one. She’s extremely clingy too especially at night. She is quite smart ‘cos she knows who to look for to carry her and it is always Daddy! Last night she was so whinny that Daddy didn’t get to sleep till 3am. After she had all the carrying and cuddling she got from Daddy, she climbed onto our bed and cuddled with me till she fell asleep. Poor Daddy had to sleep on Belle’s bed..hehe. Poor Mommy too ‘cos everytime I moved she would whine and cry and I had to pat her back to pacify her.

As I’m typing, Belle fever flared up again. It is gonna be a long night again.

Belle sat on my lap facing me.

Suddenly she yelled out, “MINE!!!”

She lurched toward me and gave me a big bear hug.

Gosh, I guess I’ve just became her property…tee hee…

Mommy…mommy…

This is what I’ve been hearing for the past week. I think Belle is in her Mommy phase now. Everything is Mommy this and Mommy that.

Daddy and I usually take turn to put her to bed but these couple of nights Belle insisted Mommy and Mommy alone. *sigh* Lucky Daddy. When I lie next to her, little girl will keep saying Mommy Mommy with a manja* tone to it.

I’m loving every moment of it! *giggles*

This morning, I feel very homely. I cooked dumpings for the family and baked brownies.

We brought Belle to a local fair last night and when we got home, the little girl was fast asleep in her carseat. We changed her clothes, wiped her hands and feet and put her down on the bed. She was so tired she didn’t even have her milk. So, this morning, little girl woke up and first thing she said me is ahh ahh and kept pointing her finger into her mouth. I asked if she’s hungry, she nodded. I woked up and brought her down with me.

I heated up the milk, added a scoop of milo into her sippy cup. While she was drinking her milk I ransacked the fridge and found a packet of dumplings. Oh, did you think I was gonna make dumplings from scratch? *Laughing my head off* I took out 15 pieces of dumplings, just enough for Belle and myself. I’ll cook the other 15 pieces when Daddy wakes up. While the dumplings were cooking, I went to the pantry to check on stuff that I can cook for Belle’s lunch. I saw a box of Betty Crocket’s brownie mix and decided to bake some brownies too. What? Did you think (again) that I would make brownies from scratch? *Rolling on the floor laughing*

The brownies are done and I’ve finished feeding the fussy girl. She hasn’t been eating well lately. I’m not sure if it is due to her stuffy nose or she’s teething. Daddy just came down and I have also finished cooking rest of the dumplings for him.
