Wow, a week of not blogging and I’m onto my 3rd post. Anyway, this is important to jot down ‘cos my poor baby is hurt.
I received a call from Tina late in the afternoon and she told me a girl bit Belle on her cheeks. These thoughts ran through my mine…
Oh my gosh! Is my baby alright?
Oh my gosh! Will she be scarred for life?
Oh my gosh! Is she bleeding?
And who the heck bit my girl?! *fuming*
But, I was calm and asked Tina how she was and whether I need to bring her to the doctor. Tina said her cheek is bruised, there are teeth marks but thankfully there wasn’t any tearing of the skin. She iced Belle and the swelling went down a little. She called just so I could inform my in-laws too ‘cos my FIL picks Belle up from the daycare. My in-laws get freak out easily whenever Belle has a boo-boo and Tina is well aware of it. She also told me both the girls were playing and the other probably got excited and just bit Belle.
I called Jon and Jon called his dad. Even though we’ve informed my FIL about it he was still mad at Tina (I spoke to Tina this morning). He kept blaming Tina for not looking after Belle. I know to all grandparents their grandkids are precious but my in-laws sometimes can be overly protective of Belle.
Anyway, all’s well now. Belle still has a teeth mark bruise on her cheek. Last night I rubbed some yu yi oil on her cheeks. I’ll do it again tonight. Oh yea, who bit her? Grace.

Guess who we met up with last night?
She’s a blogger mom from Penang.
She has a boy named Bryan.
She’s slim and tall (oh I hate you!
)
She’s no other than her!
We didnt’ bring Belle with us ‘cos she would’ve been a handful. We need to have the luxury to chat endlessly and of course eat. So, where did we bring Shooi? First stop, Costco! I should be a vitamin salesperson…’cos we were there to get a bottle of multi-vit for Michelle and Shooi ended up with 2-3 bottles of vitamins and couple bottles of the Glucosamine pills for her mom.
So, where did we bring Shooi for makan? Pho of course! I was sucha pig. I kept saying, “Oh…I can’t finish this bowl of pho…” and guess what? I ended up with no noodles in my bowl. What happened that night? I puked from eating too much. I guess I can get carried away easily when there are good friends and great chatting involved.
It was great meeting you, Shooi! We hope to see you in Penang too.
Thanks for the little gift from Penang. Now I’ll have to find a good weekend to cook up a storm for Jon and Belle.

It has been difficult to find time to blog lately.
Reasons:
1) Company is going through restructuring and I’ve been going back and forth with the management on my salary package. It is so taxing and my conclusion is this company I’m with is screwed up big time.
2) Tiredness. I find this 2nd pregnancy different from the time I had Belle. I’m always feeling exhausted. My ob-gyn said it’s because I have an active toddler. I’m so thankful that my hubby has been putting a lot of weight in taking care of Belle.
3) I guess I just needed a break from all the chaos I’m getting from work. It sucks to come in to work and hate what I’m doing now. Why am I still here? I don’t have much of a choice. I need my 3-mth maternity leave and I might not get that if I work for a different company. I guess I can work out the details with my future employer but seriously, who would wanna hire a pregnant woman knowing she will be off for 3 months in 6 months time?
Okay, okay, enough of my crap. I’ll post something more cheery in the next post…

I guess all of you have noticed the hints I’ve been dropping for the past few weeks.
Some, like her, is so darn determined about it and even wanted to boycott this blog if I didn’t announce it.
Some thought they were right but I had misled them to believe I am not. Sorry, Jess!
Some just assumed it is and congratulated me when they saw me online.
Some pried it off me when they saw me online and kept probing me till I gave in and told them the result. You know who you are.
Some almost gave out the secret.
Nonetheless, those who knew did help us keep it as a secret. Jon and I thank all of you. Read the rest of this entry »

she slept throughout the night without interruption.
I hope it was the Claritin we gave her last evening. Daddy said we will know if it is after a few nights. *keeping fingers crossed*

Seasonal Allergy.
Dr. Martino had the receptionist called me this morning saying she would rather see Belle herself. Now, this is what I call a responsible, patient-friendly pediatrician.
We picked Belle from the daycare around 3.30pm and checked in the clinic right before her scheduled time, which was 3.45pm. We waited for more than 30 mins and I think we were Dr. Martino’s last patient. The receptionist did mention about her squeezing us into her schedule.
Dr. Martino listened to her lungs and told us her lungs are perfect. She told us she has been seeing a lot of children with allergy problems lately and it is due to changing of seasons. Now Jon is blaming me for giving Belle my seasonal allergy genes. *roll eyes* We went to the pharmacy, got her a bottle of Claritin syrup and fed her the med after her meal of watermelon.
I hope Claritin works for her ‘cos it works for me. Dr. Martino said if it works for me, the chances of it working for Belle is higher. I did ask when do I know it is time to stop giving her the med. She said I can try for 3 weeks and if it works, get off it and monitor Belle’s reaction. If her nose is still stuffed up, we will just have to continue the med a week at a time. She told us to schedule another appointment next week if Claritin doesn’t work for her. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.

We’re bringing Belle in to the pediatrics tomorrow to check on her cough and nasal congestion. She has been coughing for 2 months and it doesn’t seem to get any better. She has phlegm in her throat but everytime she coughs she can’t seem to cough it out. I’ve heard from older generation that if the phlegm is still there, it will be difficult to get rid of the cough.
Now that Jon is sleeping with Belle, he has noticed Belle would at times stop breathing for 1-2 sec. Belle snores a lot and we thought it was due to the narrow nasal passage. We’re afraid she has sleep apnea. I called her pediatrician this morning but she was not in. The advising nurse called me back. I gave her all the symptoms and she told me schedule an appointment right away.
We will be seeing Dr. Brown instead of Dr. Martino ‘cos her schedule is fully booked. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow. *sigh*

Belle has the knack of putting blames onto others.
Scenerio #1:
In the car with both her grandparents, Belle always bully her Nai Nai by pushing her hand away from her car seat. Yesterday after pushing her Nai Nai’s hand away, she started to rub on her arm.
Mom: What’s wrong Belle?
Belle: Ouch
Mom: Ouch? Who ouch you?
Belle: Nai Nai
Mom: Sure?
Belle: Sure. (Yea, this girl knows how to use this word and uses it with a confident tone)
Mom: I don’t think so. I think you’re a naughty girl. Nai Nai didn’t ouch you. Who is naughty girl?
Belle: Nai Nai
Mom: *slaps forehead*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scenerio #2:
Mom: Belle! Belle! Come here!
Silence. All parents know where there is dead silence from the kids, it means only one thing: They are up to no good.
Mom: Belle! *walking towards the formal living room*
CRASH!
Mom: Oh! Who dropped the picture frame?
Belle: *stood there and one split second……..*
Belle: Ouch! *pointing to her finger*
Mom: Don’t ouch. You dropped the picture frame, didn’t you?
Belle: *stood to her ground* Ouch.
Sigh, I didn’t know whether to laugh or be angry at her. This girl is too smart!
