NKOTB is back!

Oh.

My.

God.

New Kids On The Block is having a reunion concert. How old are those guys anyway? Now, now, don’t tell me you weren’t their biggest fan before (I read at socialspark that my readers average age is in the 30s). Admit it! Don’t feel shy that we were once teeny boppers.

I went OMG not because I’m a fan of NKOTB. Matter of fact, I never liked that boy group. I went OM*G ‘cos it sounds pretty sad. Who do they expect to attend their concert? Ex-teeny boppers who are most likely married, have kids and have saggy boobs from months of breastfeeding? Imagine these mamas start to jump up and down in excitement? Oh, what a sight! LOL! Now, now, don’t be shooting darts at me. I’m also a mom with 2 kids and sadly my boobs are heading down south.

Anyway, it’s just funny to hear about the concert from the radio station this morning and I wanted to share it with y’all. So, were you a NKOTB fan? :)

Women, did you get yourself tested?

I have and I’m talking about get tested for human papilloma virus aka HPV. Do you know getting a Pap test alone may not be enough to detect abnormality in the cervical cells.

Still not convinced?

Think Anita Mui. The death of this mega star has launched a great awareness of Cervical Cancer among the Asian community. If you are Asian, you will know what an impact it had made.

Pap Test can sometimes give false negative result, meaning you’re told your Pap is normal when in fact abnormal cells existed. If you are 30 and older, you need not worry as HPV Test is given as a normal routine along with your Pap. If you are younger than 30, it is crucial to have a HPV Test along with your annual Pap Test. The ability to detect women at risk of Cervical Cancer is greater when the HPV Test is done along with the Pap Test.

How should you equip yourself with more information on HPV and HPV Tests?

The digene HPV Test educates and raises awareness of HPV. You owe it to yourself to read up on it.

My moo juice

Look back at my older posts during my breastfeeding year with Belle, I was quite obssessed at blogging about it. One true fact was I had to travel for work and I would come back with funny stories on how I had to express the milk. This time, I don’t have to travel anymore, my pumping sessions became quite mundane. I usually express the milk around 10.45 or 11am and 4pm. Two sessions and I’ll be darn lucky if I get a total of 10oz. It’s quite pathetic and I’m not sure if I’ll have enough for the girl.

From my previous experience, I barely had enough to cover Belle’s daily consumption. This time, I’m afraid I might not have enough. MIL suggested mixing formula with my milk. I’m not too happy about that ‘cos I really wanna think my milk level is enough for Cassie. Yes, I’m in denial. Anyway, we will know if Cassie is gaining weight healthily or not in two weeks. If she is, we will hold off the formula.

The Real McCoy in Identity Theft

Recently I wrote a post about protecting identity through lifelock and why it is essential to invest in them.  Lifelock in once again in the news radar. This time Lifelock is fighting back from the allegation stated by Experian. Experian stated that “credit laws do not provide for a third party to place fraud alerts on behalf of a consumer.”

Do you know just by last year alone, Experian has a 4.1 billion dollars earning from selling our personal information? No, huh? No wonder they are targeting Lifelock because Lifelock is cutting into their revenue. Lifelock fraud alert is free for their members; whereas Experian will have to spend money to set up such alert system for their customers. On top of the free fraud alert, Lifelock opts-out members of pre-approved junk mail; limiting credit bureaus to sell our information.  There goes a chunk of Experian’s 4.1 billion dollars revenue. No wonder Experian is hopping mad.

Well, I won’t be if I’m with Lifelock. I hate those pre-approved credit card junk mail and I’m glad Lifelock opts-out those kind of mail. Why? Less junk mail = more trees = better environment.

Food Allergies?

My previous post started me thinking. Maybe we ought to invest in getting a medical id for Cassie. I have a strong hunch she is allergic to eggs and seafood. I ate some egg noodles over the weekend and she started to have eczema spots on her belly and ankles. If she’s allergic to eggs, she will be allergic to certain immunization shots. Just in case we are not able to be with her, the medical id will let health provider knows what she’s allergic to right away.

Cassie: 3-mth old update

At 3 and half month old, Cassie is hitting all the milestones she’s suppose to be at. She’s babbling a lot and adores human interaction. Everytime she sees the people she’s familiar with, she will beam her toothless grin. Take a look at this happy camper…

She has discover her hands and loves to clutch them together as tho’ she wishing everyone Gong Xi Fa Cai (Chinese version of Happy New Year). A few times I have caught her lifting her arm up to wack at the toys that are hung on the carseat holder. She startles in amusement everytime she achieves it.

She has her fair share of tummy time and is able to lift her head up. Everytime she does that, her legs will be lifted too. Although she’s able to lift her head up when she’s on her tummy, her neck muscle isn’t strong yet. We still need to cradle her head whenever we carry her.

She is quite a good sleeper although MIL complains she doesn’t nap well. We don’t seem to have that problem when she’s with us. She is great with schedules! Our evening routine goes like this: Bath around 8-ish, suckle on Mommy and sleep. She will be fast asleep by 9pm. She sleeps through the night (if I don’t have to wake up every 4 hrs or so is considered sleep-thru-the-nite for me), waking up once around 3am and 6-ish am for milk. She doesn’t cry, she just fusses. That’s usually my cue to be awake and surrender my boob to her. She prefers to suckle while both of us are lying on the bed. That works fine for me. Usually I would fall asleep and till today I have no idea if she’s full or not from those early morning feeds. Since she fusses around 6am for milk, I would guess not.

Compare to Belle, she has a milder temperament. She’s okay if we leave her alone but not for too long tho’. She will yell out (yes, this girl can literally yell) to get our attention if she’s left alone for too long. Like I’ve mentioned before, she loves human interaction. The only time she will wail is when I have to clean her nose by using the suction bulb. Oh, she hates that! Her face will turn red in anger whenever I do that.

All in all, she is an easy going babe. I guess we luck out this time. :)

Dreaming of Mexico

We enjoyed our cruise trip to Mexico so much; we wanted to go back again. Now that the dollar is weaker, Mexico is the most affordable country we could visit. We want to have sun, beach and spa and where can we get all of these? Puerto Penasco!

The next upcoming holiday will be the 4th of July holiday. Hmm, 4th of July happens to fall on a Friday, maybe I can squeeze in Mexico during that long weekend. I’m checking out the Sea Side Reservations site and found useful Puerto Penasco activities guide. Puerto Penasco has everything we’re looking for: beach, shops, and kid-friendly places. I can even check out rentals such as hotel and condo.

I wonder if the hubby wants to do this little short getaway. If he doesn’t, at least now I know where to start my search for Mexico beach vacations.
